Adobe Rgb Vs Srgb Monitor

So I'm venturing into the world of professional photography (shooting mostly actor headshots)- I've got lots of experience and good shooting gear- the last step is the display for editing. I've been looking at mid-range displays- trying to choose between the Asus PA249q, PA248q, PB248q, and possibly a Catleap (or other Korean brand) IPS 27'. Basically, any decent display under $500. As a beginning professional, should I spend the extra money to get 100% (or close to it) aRGB space, or will I be fine with 100% sRGB? I hate feeling like my gear is holding me back, and I don't mind spending the extra money to get the most out of my shots- if you really think that full aRGB (and higher NTSC coverage) is worth it, I'll get it. But if I can save $200 and be totally satisfied (and satisfied for the next 2-5 years) with a 100% sRGB display, then I'll just get that.

A histogram based on Adobe RGB is still “lying” to you (vs the actual histogram of the RAW image), but it is less of a lie, and as good as it gets in camera right now. If you do shoot JPEG and esp if you do not want to edit your images afterwards, then use sRGB in camera, and away you go.

Also- is 100% sRGB also technically 72% NTSC? Is any monitor that lists 100% sRGB just sort of re-wording that stat into a better-looking one?

SRGB is the web standard, you should/must be using this color space. Monitor RGB can be what ever you monitor is calibrated to. Computer monitor for photographers sRGB vs Adobe RGB I'm hazy as to how Adobe uses it but @digidog knows everything about it or you could search for it on their site - it's mentioned quite a bit there.

What does r/photography think? Any other recommendations aside from what I've mentioned above? Thanks in advance for your advice and info!
